Our group was opened up to the idea that change takes time and that our "sphere of influence" as first grade teachers is just beginning the process for many of these children. We want to positively impact the students very deeply. We took away from this chapter the final quote that our "intention is to build self-worth in ourselves as well as our students". We know that we need to be patient and that change takes time.
